Charges under Article 149 § 3 of the Criminal Code (human trafficking) have been laid against two women believed to have “sold” residents of the Crimea and Sevastopol

A criminal file has been passed to the court in the Crimea on individuals alleged to have sold young Crimean women into sex slavery in Turkey.

Charges under Article 149 § 3 of the Criminal Code (human trafficking) have been laid against two women believed to have “sold” residents of the Crimea and Sevastopol.  Five women from different parts of the Crimea were victims.

The women are believed to have sent their victims to Turkey where they were handed over to local pimps. According to information from the Crimean prosecutor’s office, almost all of them were told they would be working in a café.
