Lutsenko’s appeal rejected

22.11.2012
Despite the fact that the supposedly aggrieved party has stated that he does not see himself as aggrieved, and most of the witnesses said the actions were within the law, the only surprise from Thursday’s ruling is, unfortunately, that there was a dissenting voice

Presiding Judge Oleh Prystyazhnyuk and one other judge of the Kyiv Court of Appeal have upheld the second sentence against former Interior Minister Yury Lutsenko.  More details of the case and appeal can be found here.  Despite the fact that the supposedly aggrieved party has stated that he does not see himself as aggrieved, and most of the witnesses said the actions were within the law, the only surprise from Thursday’s ruling is that there was a dissenting voice.  The name of this judge is as yet not known.
