Lutsenko demands medical examination outside prison

The former Interior Minister and opposition leader, Yury Lutsenko demands that he be examined in a specialized hospital with the relevant specialists. The State Penitentiary Service is claiming there is no need for this, and that his state of health is “satisfactory”/

Iryna Lutsenko reports that during a phone call on Thursday evening, her husband told her that the Penitentiary Service had supposedly organized a medical examination by Health Ministry specialists.

“The examination consisted of a meeting with the same doctors who “examined” him in October”

She says that her husband will only agree to be examined in a specialized medical institution by specialists. as rejected any “examinations” inside the prison colony. Lutsenko has

Ms Lutsenko says that her husband has a number of illnesses: cyrrhosis of the liver, varicose veins, peptic ulcers and hepatitis.

Yury Lutsenko is serving a four-year sentence which has been condemned by all democratic countries as politically motivated.
