On 13 March the Latvian Sejm passed a Declaration “On the repression by the USSR against the Ukrainian people in 1932-1933” in which it supported the proposal to declare Holodomor in Ukraine 1932-1933 deliberate genocide by Stalin’s regime.

The document states that Latvia shares the assessment of Holodomor expressed by Estonia, the USA, Canada, Australia, Lithuania, Georgia, Poland and other countries which have condemned the crimes of Stalin’s regime in 1932-1933 and extends its sympathy to Ukraine in connection with the tragic events.
