Police detain Spilna Sprava civic activists

On Saturday afternoon Berkut riot police detained Oleksandr Danylyuk, the leader of Spilna Sprava [Common Cause] and four other activists from the movement.

On Saturday afternoon Berkut riot police detained Oleksandr Danylyuk, the leader of Spilna Sprava [Common Cause] and four other activists from the movement. 

The organization says that at around 16.20 Berkut officers raided the tents they had set up near the monument to Bohdan Khmelnytsky for an indefinite protest.  They apparently removed 20 tents.

The statement reported by Ukrainska Pravda says that Danylyuk has a suspected fractured rib, and another activist a serious head injury. 

The activists were taken to the Shevchenkivsky District Police Stationr
