Language law hunger strikers move to other forms of protest

 In a statement issued on Wednesday, the Committee of Hunger Strikers outside Ukraine House announced that they were terminating their hunger strike which they began on 7 July, and were now moving to active actions against the Law on State Language Policy. 

“The hunger strike demonstrated that ordinary Ukrainian citizens have enough resolution and moral force to counter the authoritarian intentions of an illegitimate regime, and are capable of organizing themselves to defend the highest values – language, morality, justice.”
