There is some evidence that the  thugs who on 1 November beat up four foreign students from the Luhansk National University had come from the Kharkiv region.

According to a police spokesperson, there were between 15 and 25 young men aged around 20-25 who concealed their faces behind medical masks, and using baseball bats, damaged shop windows and kiosks near the university.

According to the spokesperson, after this behaviour they then fought with foreign students from the university. Four students from Azerbaijan, Turkmenistan and India received head injuries, concussion and bruises. One of the students had money and a mobile telephone stolen.

A police team is investigating with the criminal investigation into “hooliganism” and “robbery with violence”
