Civic activists force release of illegally detained colleague

Member of the Foundation for Regional Initiatives, Maxim Kytsiuk was with force but no explanation pushed into a police car during a protest outside the President’s Administration. The other activists blocked the car, and within half an hour they managed to obtain Maxim’s release

 

During a youth protest action outside the President’s Administration, a member of the Foundation for Regional Initiatives, Maxim Kytsiuk was with force but no explanation pushed into a police car. However other members of the protest action blocked the car, and within half an hour they managed to obtain Maxim’s release.

It is interesting that inside the car, a Berkut Special Forces officer threatened to hit Maxim for no reason at all. This was after Maxim signalled through the window to a friend that he was in the car.  A sound recording of the Berkut officers’ threats (in Ukrainian) can be heard at:
