PACE Co-rapporteur Renate Wohlwend would not like to give a timescale for an end to monitoring. Many of the people she has met in the last few days express concern that Ukraine is experiencing a period of stagnation

Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe Monitoring Committee Co-rapporteur, Renate Volvend would be hesitant to give a timescale for suspending monitoring of Ukraine. She spoke of this after a meeting with Prime Minister Viktor Yanukovych.

“With regard to when the monitoring procedure may be terminated, I can’t say anything at present. We saw many people and many of the sources and people whom we met said that there was a lot of concern about the fact that Ukraine is experiencing a period of stagnation at present. They don’t use the word “crisis”, they say “stagnation”, Ms Volvend said.
