NPM against torture and ill-treatment in Ukraine:EFFICIENCY ASSESSMENT

How eff eсient NPM is today? Can it accomplish its mission? What processes accompany its work? Can it timely and adequately respond to the challenges that face it and the country as a whole? How does its work relate to the work of other bodies to counteract torture? We were looking for answers to these and many other questions during the assessment and our team has been working on in August – December 2018.

We do hope that the fi ndings and recommendations of the study will help to improve the work on combating torture and ill-treatment in Ukraine, and this will lead to systematic changes in custodial settings. After all, the people who are there need this.
